Great for marine applications; the stainless steel construction provides the best in corrosion resistance. They provide an easy way to control the grease volume in your axle hub and have blue indicator rings to visually monitor levels.
Features:
Specs:
Replace your existing grease cap with a Bearing Buddy to ensure a safe, easy way to monitor and control the level of grease in your axle hub. To adjust the amount of grease in the hub, use a grease gun to add more through the appropriate fitting. Adding grease moves the Bearing Buddy spring-loaded piston outward 1/8".
The O-ring inside the barrel of the Bearing Buddy maintains a seal from the outside. The interior of the Bearing Buddy is pressurized, preventing water from entering the barrel and diluting the grease.
An automatic pressure-relief feature is built into the Bearing Buddy. When the device is full, grease will seep around the edges of the piston and into the barrel. This prevents overfilling that can damage the inner seal.
The blue indicator ring allows you to visually monitor the amount of grease in your hub. The ring should sit flush with the top of the cylinder. If the ring is below the top of the cylinder, add grease until the piston moves 1/8" outward.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Bearing Buddy stainless steel bearing protector set. This set is gonna provide two Bearing Buddies that will replace the grease caps and the hubs of one of your trailer's axles. So this system is designed to help protect your bearings by preventing water and dirt from getting in and potentially causing damage to your bearings through corrosion and pitting and that sort of thing. So this system is going to fit your 2.047 hub boards. Gonna work with the outer bearing cup or race model that you see on the screen there, as well as various outer bearing models that will fit into that race.
These are going to install very simply just like how your standard grease cap will fit in there but this will then allow your boats to have the wheels completely submerged. So the issue often comes up when you are submerging your boat trailer that your hubs have warmed up as as you're traveling to your site where you're gonna be fishing or enjoying the water. And so as those hunt hubs make contact with the cold water of vacuum forms inside the hub and that can pull water and dirt into the hub and into the bearing area so that you could potentially be causing contamination of your grease and that sort of thing. So this system is gonna maintain a slight controlled pressure about three psi with a spring loaded piston that's going to help offset that vacuum and it's gonna prevent that water and dirt from entering the hubs and bearings which is gonna help prevent any corrosion and pitting of the bearings. And then you know, long term it will help prevent bearing failure by preventing that corrosion.
These are also going to allow you to visually monitor your grease levels with this blue indicator ring here. So the ring sits flush with the top of the cylinder when it's full. If the ring is below the top, you just need to add some grease there, move that piston outward about an eighth of an inch. This will provide easy access to your grease fitting. So very simple.
They include the rubber caps here. So you just pull that off and you can hook up your grease gun, add some grease very quickly there and make sure that you've got enough. And this is also going to prevent overfilling and rear seal damage with the automatic pressure relief feature. Also, the grease is gonna seep around the piston edges and into the barrel when it's full. That way you don't have to worry about overfilling.
This is made here in the USA. It's constructed of stainless steel, so it's going to ensure longer lasting fit than say plastic or aluminum products. So it will hold up well for you. Like I said, they do include the rubber covers to help provide a little bit more protection especially for your grease zerk there. Make sure you're not getting any contaminants on there. And this does come with a lifetime warranty so if you we're to have any issues with it you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com and we'll be happy to work with you. Make sure you're getting good quality products, help solve any problems that may arise. But overall, I do think this is gonna be a great way. Like I said, especially if you're gonna be in and out of the water frequently, this is gonna help protect those bearings. So I think it's gonna pay for itself within a season or two not having that damage of your bearings. That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
